The Houston Rockets are set to visit Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for a cross-conference clash against the Brooklyn Nets. The Houston Rockets come into this matchup with a 3-1 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent road game against the Washington Wizards, 159-158. Leading the way for the Houston Rockets was the defending MVP as James Harden contributed 59 points and 9 assists. Center Clint Capela had a big game for the Rockets as he recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds.

The Houston Rockets had a good game shooting the ball against the Washington Wizards as they connected on 55 of their 103 field goal attempts (53.4%), and they were solid from behind the three-point line (42.6%). The Houston Rockets won the turnover battle against the Washington Wizards (19-13), and they outrebounded them as well (48-46).

The Brooklyn Nets come into this matchup with a 1-3 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Indiana Pacers, 118-108. Leading the way for the Brooklyn Nets was their newly acquired PG Kyrie Irving as he recorded 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Backup PG Spencer Dinwiddie had an efficient game off the bench for the Nets as he contributed 20 points and 7 assists.

The Brooklyn Nets struggled at shooting the ball against the Indiana Pacers as they connected on 41 of their 93 field goal attempts (44.1%), and they were even worse from behind the three-point line (32.3%). The Brooklyn Nets lost the turnover battle against the Indiana Pacers (20-9), but they dominated the Pacers in the rebounding department (66-50).

The Brooklyn Nets have not had an ideal start to the season after winning the offseason as they are lacking production outside of the Kyrie Irving and their defense has been one of the worst in the NBA. The Houston Rockets have the best backcourt in the league with James Harden and Russell Westbrook, and it is hard to find a matchup I like for Irving as Westbrook is one of the top defensive guards in the league. Houston has the ability to put up points between the duo, but they have a solid supporting cast with Clint Capela, Eric Gordon, and P.J. Tucker which is the difference in this one.

Pick:
Houston Rockets -3.5
